The Republic
of Libya has recently ordered the cancellation of all trademarks filed
before August 2003. Up to date, only less than 200
applications were filed. It is believed that many agents who filed the
applications were not geniune, and were not filed in a proper
procedure. Moreover, the Trademark Office is not in a
situation to examine the pending applications.
